NYSE Market Data via Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Across global financial markets, customer applications need to maintain increasingly large data sets, making the management, processing, collecting and storage of this content challenging and costly. To help address this, NYSE is collaborating with AWS to launch a cloud-based platform that enables customers to acquire and evaluate NYSE historical and reference data at scale. NYSE is leveraging AWS Cloud to provide a platform that is optimized for storage and retrieval of NYSE historical and reference data.

The Cloud Delivery Advantage

Download Speeds

Downloading NYSE historical and/or reference data via AWS Cloud will be much faster than the legacy SFTP delivery system. With increased trading volume and file sizes, download speed and efficiency has become an important aspect of customer workflows.

Operational Overhead

It takes work to download files from an SFTP, process the data, and either store the data on-premises or re-upload to a preferred cloud provider. That’s why the NYSE is providing a cloud-based solution where customers can spend less time and money maintaining their infrastructure and operations, and more time deriving value and insights from the data.

The Benefits AWS

The NYSE is excited to provide its data customers with comprehensive solutions for obtaining our historical and reference data, in conjunction with AWS Cloud.

AWS Cloud offers cost-effective, flexible storage

Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) is designed to make web-scale computing easier. Amazon S3 has a simple web services interface that you can use to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web. It gives any user access to the same highly scalable, reliable, fast, and inexpensive data storage infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own global network of web sites. The service aims to maximize benefits of scale and to pass those benefits on to users.

AWS offers compliance and security

AWS has achieved a number of internationally recognized certifications and accreditations, demonstrating compliance with third-party assurance frameworks, including those that impact most financial services organizations such as PCI-DSS, SEC Rule 17-a-4(f), Reg SCI, EU Data Protection Directive, FedRAMP, GDPR, FIPS 140-2, and NIST 800-171.1

Tap into the full AWS product suite

Subscribers can easily go from finding data to analyzing it using the full portfolio of AWS data lake and analytics services. Quickly export data from NYSE’s Amazon S3 to their own environment and start analyzing it with Amazon Athena and Amazon Redshift, build machine learning models with Amazon SageMaker, transform and process data with Amazon EMR and AWS Glue, or build a data lake with AWS Lake Formation.
