Northern Trust Lists First ETFs on NYSE Arca
-Designed to track the CAC 40® Index, Hang Seng Index, and TOPIX® Index -

NEW YORK , April 16, 2008 – NYSE Euronext (NYX), a global leader in ETF and ETN listings and trading, today announced the launch of three of Northern Trust’s Northern Exchange Traded Shares™ (NETS ™) ETF products.  NYSE Arca-listed ETFs and ETNs represent 56% of the nearly $609 billion in assets under management in the U.S. , the most of any exchange.

The funds launched today on NYSE Arca are part of Northern Trust’s NETS ™ suite of ETFs, which are the first ETFs designed to offer exposure for US investors to international equity indexes by tracking the following major foreign market indexes:

NETS CAC 40® Index Fund (France ):  The NETSCAC 40® Index Fund (France) trades under the ticker symbol FRC , which seeks to measure the performance of the French equities market.   The Index consists of 40 stocks selected from the 100 largest market capitalization companies with the most actively traded stocks on the French market of NYSE Euronext.

NETS ™ Hang Seng Index Fund (Hong Kong ): The NETS ™ Hang Seng Index Fund (Hong Kong ) trades under the ticker symbol HKG, which seeks to measure the performance of the Hong Kong equities market. The Index is a free-float adjusted market capitalization-weighted index with a 15% cap on individual stock weights consisting of stocks of the largest companies traded primarily on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.

NETS ™ TOPIX® Index Fund (Japan ): The NETS ™ TOPIX Index Fund (Japan ) trades under the ticker symbol TYI, which seeks to measure the performance of the Japanese equities market.   The Index consists of over 1,500 stocks of the largest Japanese companies traded primarily on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
