NYSE Euronext Celebrates 89th Annual NYSE Christmas Tree Lighting on December 4

NYSE Euronext will celebrate the holiday season with the 89th lighting of the NYSE Christmas Tree. The annual NYSE tradition will extend throughout Broad Street between Wall Street and Exchange Place beginning at 12 p.m. and will include hot cocoa, cookies and live musical entertainment. Santa will make an appearance at 5 p.m. followed by the illumination of the NYSE Christmas Tree at 5:15 p.m.  

To mark this festive occasion, Ivanka Trump with representatives from The Glad Products Company, representatives from ConAgra Foods, featured musical entertainers performing at the NYSE tree lighting ceremony and FOX 5 NY meteorologist Nick Gregory will ring the NYSE Closing Bell.

Ivanka Trump and The Glad Products Company – Cookies for Kids’ Cancer
Ivanka Trump and The Glad Products Company, a subsidiary of The Clorox Company (NYSE: CLX), will distribute thousands of cookies created by award-winning chef and head judge of Bravo’s “Top Chef Just Desserts,” Johnny Iuzzini from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.  For every cookie exchanged this holiday season, GLAD will make a donation to Cookies for Kids’ Cancer, a nonprofit that raises funds for pediatric research through cookie sales.

Meteorologist Nick Gregory joined Fox 5 in December 1986 and brings viewers the weather on Fox 5 News at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.

This year’s tree, a 45’ high, 35’wide Norway Spruce, hails from Newburgh, N.Y.  Situated in front of the NYSE façade, the tree is adorned with 3,500 white LED lights, 1,000 multi-colored balls with the NYSE Euronext logo and a 6’ star on top, all supported on an 8’ x 10’ base fashioned as a gold box. 

The NYSE Euronext holiday tree has been Downtown New York tradition since 1923 and is one of the most visited attractions during the holidays.

This holiday season NYSE Euronext employees are volunteering 10,000 hours of service to charitable organizations as part of its NYX Shares program.
